What does "AdSense" mean?

AdSense:

Google AdSense Ads are displayed on Google's Display Network (which consists of third-party websites), and are automatically placed by Google. How it works: a website owner signs up for an AdSense account, puts some code provided by Google onto the web page, and advertisements (also provided by Google) for random products magically show up. Website owners participating in AdSense make money whenever their website visitors click on the AdSense ads displaying on their websites. The ads themselves come from Google Ads and are provided by advertisers wanting to show up on relevant websites through Google's Display Network. Google charges the advertiser for each click, and pays the website owner displaying the AdSense ads for each click.
